J.M.W. Turner has created waves of interest world-wide with a series of 8
exhibitions, starting with the National Gallery in Washington in a 2008
'block-buster' followed by Houston; New York at the Metropolitan Museum and
Moscow; also three "Turner and Italy" shows in Ferrara, Edinburgh and
Budapest plus the first ever Turner show in China in 2009 and now our own

trend-setting exhibition traces Turner's development starting with his
teenage years, through to the full flowering of his genius evident in the 26
Italian vignettes, culminating in our exhibition's show-stopper, the
celebrated St. Mark's Place, Venice - Juliet and Her Nurse, 1842, a
magnificent engraving on copper. Only the genius of Turner could transport
Romeo and Juliet from Verona to Venice and in the process transform a
tragedy into a spectacular celebration of life.
